About the owner
Sam Tashakor
My name is Sam Tashakor and I own and operate Orb Excavations. Originally from Blackburn North, I’ve lived in Greensborough for seven years. I have a master’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Technology Sydney and have worked for Sydney Water in NSW and VicRoads in Victoria.
My passion for engineering took me overseas to Israel and the city of Akko (Acre), which has more than 750 years of history under the supervision of UNESCO. There, I met my partner Mel in Israel and we decided to move back to Australia to start a family.
It’s always been my dream to run a company and after some research and consultation, I decided to take over the family business. When I did, I brought my deeply established knowledge and skills in machinery operations, which my father passed on to me from a young age. Our family business has evolved into what you see today.
